Authentication & User Identification
When you first launch Gravity Dash, we silently generate a randomized, anonymous User ID (UID) using Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This UID is used exclusively to securely link your gameplay progress, scores, and statistics to your specific device.
Cloud Storage & Gameplay Data
We store your high scores and a basic game profile associated with your anonymous UID in our secure cloud database (Firebase Cloud Firestore). This data is used solely to populate global leaderboards and allow you to compete with other players securely.
Local Device Storage
To ensure fast access and enable offline progression, we store the following data locally on your device:
- High scores and accumulated in-game currency (coins).
- Game settings, such as audio and music volume preferences.
- Legal consent status and ad tracking preferences.
3. Advertising and Analytics
We use third-party services, including Google AdMob and Unity Ads, to serve advertisements and analyze game performance. These services may automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- Device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA).
- IP address (used to derive general location data).
- Crash logs and diagnostic data.
Consent and Control: We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage your privacy preferences and ensure compliance with regional laws like GDPR and CCPA. You have the right to choose between personalized and non-personalized advertising, and you can update your consent settings at any time within the App.
4. Minor Protection & Age-Gating
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all players, including children. Gravity Dash dynamically uses the Google Play Age Signals API to determine the user's age tier at startup.
If the active user is identified as a minor (e.g., under 13 for COPPA, or under 18 for specific state laws like the Texas App Store Accountability Act), the App automatically restricts certain features. This includes disabling personalized advertising and tracking to ensure full compliance with privacy regulations and to maintain a secure environment.
5. Device Permissions
To function correctly, Gravity Dash requests the following device permissions:
Internet & Network
Required to connect to leaderboards, ad networks, and our cloud database.
File & Storage Access
Used temporarily when you share your high score. We capture an in-game screenshot, save it temporarily, and trigger your device's native share sheet. We do not scan, read, or access your personal photo gallery or files.
Haptic Feedback
Accesses your device's vibration motor to provide tactile feedback during gameplay. No data is collected through this feature.
6. Third-Party Integrations
Gravity Dash utilizes the following additional third-party services:
- Google Fonts: Fetches typography files dynamically, which temporarily exposes your IP address to Google for the download.
- In-App Review: Connects to native App Store/Play Store APIs to prompt for app ratings seamlessly without leaving the game.
- Firebase App Check: Secures our database using Play Integrity on Android, ensuring that only the authentic, unmodified app can read or write data, preventing bot abuse.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. All data transmitted to our cloud storage is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS protocols. Furthermore, we employ internal cryptography to securely hash local data payloads, preventing unauthorized tampering with local files (such as artificially inflating high scores or coins).
